Thank you for your interest in participating in our Connected Vehicle Field Test (CVFT 5.0). We want to evaluate the implementation of the EU Data Act in the context of connected cars.

For this purpose, CARUSO is looking for volunteers and their vehicles to exercise and evaluate the offering of the vehicle manufacturers in the context of the EU Data Act. CARUSO is looking for a number of representatives per vehicle manufacturer to perform walkthroughs and gather information about the implementation of the EU Data Act and, of course, collect data about your vehicle.You can find more information here.

Participation and Contact: I consent to my personal data being processed as described in the Declaration of Consent below to participate in the “Connected Vehicles Field Test (CVFT)”. I also consent to Caruso GmbH contacting me via email regarding the organization and implementation of the field test and agree to receive information about the CVFT 5.0.

Vehicle Data: I consent to Caruso GmbH acting as a third party and authorize the collection of data about my vehicle, identified by its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Screenshot and Recording: I expressly consent to Caruso GmbH to conduct an online meeting (using Microsoft Teams) for performing a walkthrough of the Vehicle Manufacturers' offering in the context of the EU Data Act. I agree that Caruso GmbH may take screenshots and my audio and video data generated during the online meeting may be recorded and stored for documentation purposes. I am aware that my consent will be documented.

1. Purpose of processing: Your personal data is processed in order to (1) enable your participation in the Connected Vehicle Field Test to evaluate the implementation of the EU Data Act in the area of connected vehicles, (2) to contact you (by email) to carry out the field test, (3) to document the registration on the vehicle manufacturers’ portal together with you (via Microsoft Teams), (4) to optionally record the Teams session, provided you expressly consent to this.

2. Types of data processed: your contact details (name, email, phone number), vehicle-related information (e.g., make, model, VIN), vehicle data (data provided by the vehicle manufacturer, e.g. mileage, geolocation, etc.), your answers and experiences in the context of the questionnaires provided in the field test, and, if applicable, image and sound recordings from joint online sessions (only with separate consent)

3. Legal basis: The processing is based on your voluntary consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and your consent in accordance with § 7a UWG (German Unfair Competition Act) for telephone or online meeting contact.

4. Recipients: Your data will be processed exclusively by Caruso GmbH and, if necessary, transmitted to the respective vehicle manufacturer as part of the vehicle portal registration. Your data will not be passed on to other third parties without your express separate consent. Your data may be used anonymized in reports or studies documenting the Connected Vehicle Field Test 5.0

5. Storage period: Your personal data will only be used for the duration of the Connected Vehicle Field Test and will be deleted no later than 6 months after completion (unless there are legal retention obligations). Recordings of team meetings will only be stored for as long as necessary for the purpose of the field test, but for no longer than 6 months after completion.

6. Your rights: You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, and revocation of your consent with effect for the future at any time (Art. 7 (3), Art. 15-21 GDPR). You can also file a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
